On Thursday, June 24 2021, an unexpected natural disaster struck the Hodonín and Břeclav regions with devastating force. A tornado swept through South Moravia after a series of strong storms. Rescuers and volunteers are intervening in the area. Unfortunately, in addition to extensive material damage, victims and dozens of injuries have also been reported.
On June 24, before midnight, the leadership of the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren (ECCB) and the ECCB Diaconia held an emergency meeting. The ECCB is releasing CZK 500,000 to help in the affected region. At the same time, we are opening a humanitarian fundraiser and mobilizing volunteers.
