In 2020, we began implementing a project in Vietnam, in partnership with the organisation Blue Dragon to strengthen and protect children's rights in the police investigation process. The project was developed with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs under the TRANSITION programme.
Through this, we supported an expert consultative process to improve the process of investigating sexual
offences against children. An official circular (set of guidelines) of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam was created to be used by the police and judiciary to help protect the rights of the child and prevent additional traumatization.
This year, the project continues with training sessions for Vietnamese police investigators in the provinces. The training will include an introduction to good practices in the field. At the same time, we will be involved in expert work through our partner in the preparation of the revision of the law on human trafficking.
